Kitchen & Home

Usable art

Kitchen and home for sale on Little Pea Green 2023

My hand painted kitchen and home range is very popular. This page focuses on usable items for kitchens and home, some are new, many upcycled and is forever changing, do visit canal art an eclectic collection for more ideas. Consequently, I am always seeking perfect pieces to paint, sometimes these are new but often upcycled. As a result my kitchen and home collection is beautiful and usable and includes clip-top storage jars, wooden spoons and coasters. Alongside these are teapots, cafetieres and jugs with stoneware jars for utensils, empty gin bottles, coasters and more… I

Tea and coffee

Handpainted, upcycled teapots 2023

Regardless of whether your kitchen and home are floating or or on land, a teapot or cafetiere is a must. Each is sourced by me, and thoroughly cleaned before painting. As well as unbranded teapots I also seek out Denby pottery and Price & Kensington teapots. Sometimes there is an occasional Wedgwood or Royal Doulton. The result is an eclectic mix of shapes, sizes and colours on offer. Therefore my stock is constantly changing. Similarly, as a coffee lover, I also paint cafetieres in different shapes and szes, Moka pots and occasionally ceramic coffee filters.

Teapot and cafetieres cost between £16-£25 depending on their size.

Storage and treats

I stock a range of storage items from vintage, stoneware, to brand new clip-top glass jars. Additionally, many of the larger jugs I paint would also be ideal as utensil pots or vases. They are perfect for either human or furry friend treats – though not all in the same jar. Prices for storage items range from £10-£35. I

Baking, chopping boards and egg-cups

I like all my foodie paints to be usable. Consequently, I don’t over-paint spoons and rolling pins. In other words, the stirring end of the spoon is left unpainted, as is the roller on the rolling pins. Egg cups are simply decorated with roses and are completely usable. Baking implements and egg cups cost between £3 – £10. See the gallery below for pictures.

Gin

Upcycled gin bottles – 2022

Many modern gin and spirit bottles have such a fabulous shape they are too good to simply throw into the recycle bin. Therefore, it seemed a good idea to paint them. My bottles have a range of wording. For instance, from a simple ‘gin’ to ‘elixir’ or how about a nod to Alice in Wonderland with ‘drink me’. Bottles cost £14 each.

A perfect accompaniment to for your drinks glass might be a slate coaster decorated with canal art roses. I sell these individually and they cost £4.50 each.

To order

To order my kitchenalia and gin bottles simply contact me via email, Facebook, or Instagram .  I usually respond within a couple of hours.  I prefer payment by BACS transfer. For most items second class postage is £4.20. Of course I am of course happy to combine postage.
