Handy kitchen pieces
As a keen cook and baker, both in my house and on the boat, I like to have practical kitchen tools and storage. On Pea Green I also wanted an echo of canal traditions too! This led me to decorate wooden spoons, rolling pins, teapots and up-cycled jars (see the bottom of the page for pictures). Spoons and rolling pins are decorated on the handle ends, meaning you can still use them. I sand the wood and then use chopping board oil to finish all wooden implements. To care for your wooden items, wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately. Spoons are £3.00 each plus postage £1.50 for 3.
My up-cycled storage jars come in differents shapes and sizes and can be used in the kitchen or elsewhere. The fronts are all painted with blackboard paint, so you can chalk on the contents or use-by dates. (I suggest using a chalk pen.) If you prefer I can write on for you, and varnish over the top. The tops are decorated with enamel paints and varnished. Prices vary £2.50 for spice jars, to £6.00 for large pickle jars. Postage varies, depending on the size of the jars, as a rough estimate £3.00 covers 3 300ml jars or £5 covers 2 large pickle jars.
Teapots vary in size and cost – the 10 cup teapot pictured below was £35 plus £4 postage. Also keep an eye on my Instagram feed for pictures of rolling pins and other kitchen pieces.
To order simply contact me via email, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. I usually respond within a couple of hours. When it comes to paying I accept PayPal or can message you my bank details for BACS. I try and list postage/packing on my pages, and am of course happy to combine postage.
